Shine hold the Vehicle Damage Repair Kitemark. This Kitemark shows that all of our trained technicians have the technical competence to carry out repairs to the highest of standards.

Working with the BSI has enabled us to reverse the perception that repairs carried out in a mobile environment are inferior to ones in traditional Bodyshops. It also helps with our own continuous improvement through their regular audits.

The History Behind the Kitemark

In 2010 we first engaged with the BSI, where they supported us in laying down the foundation which became Shine’s processes and procedures, working towards the Kitemark.

2012 we achieved our goal! We became the first fully employed mobile repairer to hold the BSI Vehicle Damage Repair Kitemark.

Over the next few years we worked closely with the BSI, passing audit after audit, allowing us to hone our skills and build our reputation within the sector, always being underpinned by the Kitemark.

In 2018 we were shortlisted for the BSI Excellence Award.

In 2019 we were again shortlisted for the BSI Excellence Award. We won!

This success led to BSI conducting a case study on Shine to showcase how the Kitemark helped grow the business. You can find the case study here.

We have used the Kitemark framework throughout Shine and it has helped us with compliance and the continuation of the business. Mirroring the same procedures as the BSI audits, Shine’s own Quality Assurance Team conduct regular audits throughout the business to ensure all repairs are carried out at a high standard. This has resulted in a 5 star customer feedback rating of 94.34%.

The Kitemark’s worldwide recognised status has been one of the main contributing factors which allowed us to win major contracts such as Toyota/Lexus, Mercedes-Benz and Suzuki to name a few.

With the Kitemark being one of our cornerstones within our business we believe that this has been a major factor to the success that we have had over the years. We have seen Shine grow, year on year, and with the measures in place, such as the BSI, excellence has become a habit.
